Digital Pulse: BlueBox attracts new airfreight tracking API customers

Germany-based intelligent airfreight tracking solutions developer BlueBox Systems last week welcomed British logistics company ThinkPrime and Chilean logistics provider Delpa Group to its interface, which enables companies to access high-quality airfreight data quickly and efficiently. (Photo/BlueBox Systems)[/caption] ThinkPrime and Delpa Group can now integrate BlueBox’s airfreight tracking API into their platforms, allowing the independent applications to communicate with other BlueBox customers and share data in real time, a release from BlueBox said. This gives all parties along the supply chain access to the most up-to-date and accurate information. “It’s a modern SaaS solution, based on a modern cloud platform,” BlueBox Chief Technology Officer Martin Bernemann told Air Cargo Next about the company’s API. “The framework is a user interface developed by businesscode (BCD-UI) and open-source components.” With BlueBox’s API, carriers gain access to real-time shipment data, allowing them to optimize routes and allocate resources efficiently. Similarly, manufacturers can get up-to-date shipment tracking information so they can plan production and proactively manage inventory. Features available on the interface, according to Bernemann, include: Real-time tracking for master air waybills; User-friendly, comprehensive visualization; Business analytics for trade lane and carrier performance; Structured data from more than 110 airlines; and Seamless integration via open API. “We make an end-to-end tracking of the air supply chain possible with real-time milestones and position data, carbon emission, integration with providers of temperature tracking and also our new feature: predicted ETA,” Bernemann said. The API solution enhances security by providing controlled data access that ensures only authorized parties can access and use shared information, according to the release. The API also streamlines processes by fostering automation and seamless system interactions, reducing manual intervention and improving operational efficiency. “Our carrier-neutral approach means we are connected to over 200 direct airline accounts and have ties to all major shipping lines so that we can adapt to any logistics challenge or deadline,” Arisa Hickey , director of ThinkPrime Thailand, said in a release. “The integration of BlueBox Systems’ API solution enables us to better provide our customers with accurate and timely updates on their shipments for a seamless experience.” BlueBox Chief Executive Martin Schulze said the company is committed to growing its services through innovation, adding to its offerings. “We offer easy access to data by user interface and API, have quality and performance intelligence integrated, [and] carbon footprint calculation,” Schulze told Air Cargo Next . Cainiao teams up with Procter & Gamble Cainiao , the logistics arm of Alibaba Group , signed a cooperation agreement with consumer goods company Procter & Gamble (P&G) in July to create an AI-powered supply chain that will reduce transportation costs and carbon emissions, according to a release from Alibaba. (Photo/Alibaba Group)[/caption] The two groups will deploy a fulfilment algorithm that can predict demand, then consolidate cargo with the same destination. Cainiao is leveraging its technology to provide supply chain solutions and will help P&G upgrade its own fulfilment services, Cainiao Vice President Shuai Yong said in the release. Cainiao’s delivery service has developed an end-to-end green logistics system from purchase to delivery, including paperless shipping labels, smart route planning, recycling and solar-powered warehouses. Cainiao and P&G also recently announced their first jointly built front warehouse, which will use the fulfillment algorithm. A front warehouse is built close to a retailer’s fulfilment location to facilitate quick delivery. Located in Zhejiang, China, the site functions as a halfway point between P&G factories upstream and consumers and retailers downstream. Geodis teams up with Happy Returns Transport and logistics company Geodis ’ digital e-commerce distribution and fulfillment solution eLogistics has integrated with Happy Returns , a PayPal company and returns software and reverse logistics company, according to a Geodis release. With this integration, eLogistics retailers can provide a simpler returns process. (Photo/Geodis)[/caption] Happy Returns provides end-to-end returns solutions for online merchants through returns software and reverse logistics, according to the release. The integration allows retailers to better track returns and streamline processing once the shipments are received, the release said. The integration “allows brands to balance cost and speed while saving money and retaining revenue,” Michael Lamia , senior vice president of Geodis MyParcel and eLogistics, said in a release.
