Digital Pulse: HNA Cargo adds capacity to cargo.one

Beijing-based air logistics group HNA Cargo , which is agent to China’s fourth largest airline, Hainan Airlines , announced Jan. 10 that it will list its capacity on cargo.one ’s digital booking platform beginning this spring. (Courtesy/cargo.one)[/caption] HNA becomes the air logistics group offering the largest number of portfolio airlines on cargo.one, according to a release from cargo.one . HNA manages air cargo subsidiaries with a combined fleet of 600 aircraft spanning 11 airlines, including Hainan Airlines, Capital Airlines , Tianjin Airlines and Suparna Airlines . “This digital partnership helps ensure that we benefit fully from our transportation capacity and can achieve optimal distribution,” HNA Vice President Qiushi Zheng said in the release. “As our first global digital sales channel ... cargo.one has impressed our teams with its technical proficiency and strength of purpose to accelerate and optimize our digital sales gains.” Cargo.one has seen 400% growth in new airline and route combinations going live for digital booking over the past 18 months, according to the release. ANA leads pack on DG AutoCheck API in Asia All Nippon Airways is the first airline in Asia to implement DG AutoCheck Connect API, the newest feature of IATA ’s DG AutoCheck, the electronic verification system for dangerous goods declarations based on the organization’s Dangerous Goods Regulations. The API digitizes the dangerous goods consignment operations and information registration, eliminating the need for manual checks against declaration forms, regulation books and paper checklists, ANA stated in a release today. Pricing for the system varies by customer, according to IATA. This electronic system is intended to: Enhance operational efficiency at airports; Reduce human error; and Improve safety. “Efficiently exchanging data with Connect API will help deliver the speed, quality, compliance and ultimately safety benefits of digitalization that air cargo customers are demanding,” Frederic Leger , senior vice president for commercial products and services at IATA , said in the release. “These benefits are real and measurable. Today it can take up to 100 minutes to get flight crew of freighter operations detailed information on dangerous goods in the payload through NOTOC [notification to captain] systems. With Connect API, this will be instantaneous.” ANA has initiated DG AutoCheck at Tokyo’s Narita International Airport (NRT), Tokyo’s Haneda Airport (HND) and Osaka’s Kansai International Airport (KIX), with plans to expand to more airports. “ANA strives to be at the forefront of innovation in our global air cargo operations, prioritizing safety and efficiency,” Kenichi Wakiya , executive vice president of ANA and president of ANA Cargo, said in the release. “The implementation of DG AutoCheck enhances our capabilities through digitizing critical information that will benefit our customers.” Silk Way West implements Logipad’s EFB solution Baku, Azerbaijan-based cargo carrier Silk Way West Airlines announced Jan. 11 that it has implemented Logipad ’s electronic flight bag (EFB) solution. Essen, Germany-based Logipad’s EFB solution allows pilots and flight crews to access real-time data and documentation pertaining to the flight to improve a flight’s safety and efficiency. “Joining the Logipad community is a significant milestone in our journey towards a global sustainable future,” President Wolfgang Meier said in a release from Silk Way West. “By introducing a paper- and wood-saving program, we not only streamline our logistics processes but also contribute to environmental conservation.”
