ECS Group and Wiremind Cargo form independent CargoTech company

French general sales and service agent (GSSA) ECS Group’s Cargo Digital Factory and digital services provider Wiremind Cargo have teamed up to form independent digitalization-focused company CargoTech. Wiremind Cargo and ECS Group opted to collaborate on an independent business rather than expand the Cargo Digital Factory, which launched in November 2021, in order to “coordinate their digital expertise,” an ECS Group spokesperson told Air Cargo World . [caption id="attachment_98240" align="alignright" width="443"] Photo courtesy of BUD[/caption] CargoTech will begin its portfolio of products by drawing on existing services offered by Cargo Digital Factory, currently comprising business intelligence and reporting system Apollo, shipment tracker Pathfinder and quoting service Quantum. Going forward, CargoTech’s goal will be to expand existing Cargo Digital Factory services while sim ultaneously developing new ones targeted at airlines, ground handlers and forwarders, according to a release. “What will change is the range that we will cover: we aim at offering a digital solution for every process that can benefit from technology,” C edric Millet, ECS Group chief strategy and digital officer, told Air Cargo World . “We are speaking about booking, pricing, quoting, tracking, planning, build-up, etc.” CargoTech will soon launch a pricing recommendation engine based on custom models, leveraging technology from simple data engineering to advanced deep learning, said Nathanael De Tarade, chief commercial officer at Wiremind. “Our idea is to offer a solution for each need, depending on the digital maturity of the customer, rather than pushing a complex tool for every case,” he said. CargoTech’s founding supports ECS Group’s technology pillar – one of four representing the company’s priorities – alongside sustainability, commercial and new abilities.
