Freighter transactions double in March

Freighter aircraft transactions rebounded in March with seventy-six, nearly double February's total of thirty-nine, but down five, or 6.6% year over year. FedEx took the lead with nineteen transactions in March, despite the mix of geopolitical events and supply chain constraints feeding uncertainty in the industry. The express company took delivery of a 777F and exercised options with Boeing for eight more 777 freighters and with ATR for ten more ATR 72-600Fs. Amazon trailed FedEx with nine FATs for the month as the e-tailer adjusts its fleet strategy and CMI service providers. The e-commerce giant, which is finalizing the delivery of its tenth and final A330-300P2F on lease from Altavair for CMI service with Hawaiian Airlines, transferred two 767-200BDSFs (27959 and 27205) to 21 Air from Atlas Air, and two 737-800BCFs (34029 and 32882) to Sun Country from Atlas Air. In the narrowbody sector full of 737-800F transactions, Uzbekistan-based My Freighter and startup SkyGuard each took delivery of one 757-200PCF on lease from Titan Aircraft Investments and AerSale, respectively. Airbus narrowbody freighter transactions included Egypt-based Sky Vision Airlines , which took delivery of an A321-200P2F (1707, ex-Red Wings), and United Arab Emirates-based Vaayu Group, which leased its fifth A320-200P2F (2161, ex-Lauda Europe) from ST Engineering and Temasek joint venture Juniper Aviation Investment. MNG Airlines took delivery of an A330-300P2F (1510, ex-Philippine Airlines) on lease from JLPS [FAT 10406]. Jetran acquired and inducted for conversion a 767-300ER (27377, ex-Boliviana de Aviacion).
