2022 off to strong start with January transactions

Qatar Airways’ massive launch deal with Boeing for up to fifty 777-8Fs along with two 777Fs resulted in a total of 139 Freighter Aircraft Transactions (FATs) in January 2022. This was the fourth month in a row in which Cargo Facts logged more than 100 orders, deliveries, inductions, redeliveries, leases, acquisitions, placements, etc. 2021 set a new record with 1,058 FATs overall. Unusually, there were only two transactions involving 767-300s in January 2022, while there were thirty-three involving 757-200s and A321-200s. Meanwhile, the induction and redelivery of 737-800Fs continued apace. Below is a complete list of FATs recorded in January. These transactions originally appeared in our February 2022 issue , available to subscribers, and are in our FAT Database . Hongyuan Group will place two 747-8Fs (37562 and 37563, both ex-Saudia) with Air Belgium for CMI operation [FATs 006709-6710]. JetOneX acquired a 747-400M (28551, ex-Royal Flight) and placed it with Air Atlanta Icelandic for CMI operation [FATs 007079 and 007099]. Qatar Airways placed an order for thirty-four 777-8Fs with Boeing with options for sixteen more. The carrier also ordered two more 777Fs [FATs 007108-7159]. Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings placed an order for four 777Fs from Boeing [FATs 007051-7054]. China Cargo Airlines took delivery of a 777F (67453) from Boeing [FAT 007057]. China Airlines placed an order for four 777Fs with Boeing [FATs 007100-7103]. Bluebird Nordic took delivery of two 777-300ERs (37705 and 37707, both ex-Emirates) on lease from GTLK Europe that it intends to eventually have converted [FATs 007091 and 007095]. FedEx Express retired an MD-10-30F (48313) from service and ferried it to Victorville (VCV) [FAT 007185]. SF Airlines acquired a 767-300ER (33421, ex-Air Canada) [FAT 007066]. Cargo Aircraft Management (CAM) took redelivery of a 767-300BDSF (29603, ex-American Airlines) after conversion with Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) in Tel Aviv (TLV) [FAT 007084]. MasAir took delivery of an A330-200P2F (868, ex-Etihad) on lease from Altavair after conversion with Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW) [FATs 007085-7086]. SF Airlines acquired a 757-200 (32447, ex-TUI Airways) [FAT 007065]. SF also inducted for conversion a 757-200 (32446, ex-TUI Airways). The aircraft will be converted with Precision Aircraft Solutions in Chengdu (CTU) [FAT 007182]. YTO Cargo Airlines acquired and inducted for conversion a 757-200 (32395, ex-American Airlines). The aircraft will be converted with Precision Aircraft Solutions in Xiamen (XMN) [FATs 006394 and 007181]. AerSale placed an order for six 757-200PCF conversions with Precision Aircraft Solutions, along with four options [FATs 007160-7169]. Aerovista placed an order for two A321-200PCF conversions (1451 and 1503, both ex-AtlasGlobal) with 321 Precision Conversions [FATs 007061-7062]. CAM acquired an A321-200 (1887, ex-Thomas Cook Airlines) [FAT 007069]. Greenwich Highland Aviation and Zetland Capital Partners placed an order for four A321-200PCF conversions with 321 Precision Conversions [FATs 007087-7090]. ST Engineering inducted for conversion an A321-200 (1199, ex-Ural Airlines). The aircraft will be converted with Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW) in San Antonio (SAT) [FAT 007083]. Yamato Transport will lease three A321-200P2Fs from Fuyo General Lease and place them with Jetstar Japan for CMI operation [FATs 007171-7179]. BBAM took redelivery of an A321-200P2F (3504, ex-Eurowings) and placed it on lease to Lufthansa Cargo [FATs 007106-7107]. DHL Express inducted for conversion a 737-800 (28318, ex-SAS). The aircraft will be converted with IAI in Naples (NAP) [FAT 007043]. Genesis inducted for conversion a 737-800 (29670, ex-Spicejet). The aircraft will be converted with Boeing in Guangzhou (CAN) [FAT 007044]. Aero Capital Solutions acquired and inducted for conversion three 737-800s (32604, ex-Go2Sky; 32773, ex-Air Europa; and 35119, ex-Aeromexico). The aircraft will be converted with Aeronautical Engineers Inc. in Xiamen (XMN), Kelowna (YLW) and Miami (MIA), respectively [FATs 007045-7046, 007075-7076 and 007183-7184]. BBAM took redelivery of a 737-800BCF (28595, ex-Air Italy) after conversion with Boeing in Jinan (TNA) and placed it on lease to Georgian Airlines [FATs 007047-7048]. Cargo Air acquired and inducted for conversion a 737-800 (28823, ex-Enter Air). The aircraft will be converted with AEI in Miami (MIA) [FATs 007067-7068 and 007170]. ASL Airlines acquired and inducted for conversion two 737-800s (35022 and 38494, both ex-Ryanair). The aircraft will both be converted with Boeing at TNA [FATs 007070-7071, 007080 and 007094]. AviaAM Leasing took redelivery of a 737-800BCF (29782, ex-Turkish Airlines) after conversion with Boeing at TNA and ferried it to Kaunas (KUN) [FAT 007074]. GECAS took redelivery of a 737-800BCF (34966, ex-GOL) after conversion with Boeing in Shanghai (PVG) and placed it on lease to Kargo Xpress [FATs 007077-7078]. GA Telesis acquired and inducted for conversion a 737-800 (33003, ex-Sriwijaya Air). The aircraft will be converted by AEI in Dothan (DHN) [FATs 007081-7082]. Spectre Air Capital acquired a 737-800 (28326, ex-SAS) [FAT 007098]. USA Jet Airlines took redelivery of an MD-88SF (53215, ex-Delta Air Lines) after conversion with AEI at DHN and ferried it to Ypsilanti (YIP) [FAT 007058]. FedEx Express took delivery of two ATR 72-600Fs (1700 and 1717) and placed them with ASL Airlines Ireland for CMI operation [FATs 007055-7056 and 007072-7073]. KF Aerospace acquired an ATR 72-500 (707, ex-Mistral Air) and will convert it to large-cargo-door configuration according to the IPR Conversions STC [FATs 007092-7093]. Amelia International took delivery of an ATR 72-212F (461, ex-ASL Airlines Ireland) on lease from TrueNoord [FATs 007063-7064]. Spain-based Swiftair transferred an ATR 72-210F (150) to the AOC of U.K.-based affiliate West Atlantic UK [FAT 007180]. Jetstream Aviation Capital took redelivery of a Saab 340BF (336, ex-Seaborne Airlines) after conversion with Taby Air Maintenance in Orebro (ORB) [FAT 007097].
