Ceiv-pharmaShanghai Pudong International Airport Cargo Terminal Co., Ltd. (PACTL) has become the first Chinese air cargo terminal to earn IATA’s Center of Excellence for Independent Validators (CEIV) certification for the safe handling of pharmaceutical products.

PACTL recently opened its new, eco-friendly cool-chain center, measuring more than 11,000 square feet and featuring various climate zones designed to support the continuous cool-chain care needed. The facility can handle up to 100,000 tonnes of temperature-sensitive air cargo each year, using non-toxic refrigerants.

By obtaining the CEIV-Pharma certification, PACTL’s Cool Center is in full compliance with all applicable handling standards expected from pharma manufacturers, in terms of its facilities, equipment, operations and staff. The certification also demonstrates that PACTLis able to provide a seamless cool chain transport between the terminal and apron.
