ANA to add more 767 freighters

To capture a share of the growing demand for air freight shipment of car parts and electronics in South Asia, Japan’s All Nippon Airways is planning on expanding routes to India.

Quoted in Bloomberg, ANA Cargo President Akira Okada did not provide much detail about specific destinations, although he did say the routes would probably be triangular, to better capture demand between regions along the way.

He also said the carrier would add two 767 freighters to support the network expansion. No information about the source of the freighters was given, but Cargo Facts believes that at least one, and possibly both, of them will be newly converted by Boeing.

ANA currently operates ten 767-300 freighters – three production units and seven Boeing-converted -300BCFs
