Widebody freighter deliveries increase ahead of peak

Eighty-four freighter aircraft transactions were recorded in July 2021, reflecting a bump in production freighter deliveries, and redeliveries of freighter-converted widebodies. Freighter aircraft transactions involving large widebody freighter tend to increase in the second half of the year, ahead of the traditional peak season for air cargo. In July, the major express players DHL, FedEx and UPS each took delivery of production freighters from Boeing. Narrowbody transactions remained strong, with new conversion orders and redeliveries for newer types including 737NG and A321 freighters, as well as 737 Classics and 757s. Despite top-up orders for 737NG freighter conversions from Aero Capital Solutions and BBAM, transaction volume was slightly below June’s record of 100 FATs . Below is a complete list of FATs recorded last month. These transactions originally appeared on page 12 of our August 2021 issue , available to subscribers, and are in our FAT Database . UPS took delivery of a 747-8F (65779) from Boeing. The aircraft was ferried from Everett (PAE) to Louisville (SDF) [FAT 006424]. JetOneX acquired a 747-400 (33734, ex-China Airlines) [FAT 006409]. DHL Express took delivery of a 777F (66862) from Boeing, and placed it with AeroLogic for CMI operation. The aircraft was ferried to Leipzig (LEJ) [FAT 006377]. Stratos took redelivery of its first A330-300P2F (713, ex-AirAsia X) from Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW), and delivered it on lease to an unidentified customer. The aircraft will be operated by Titan Airways [FATs 006441-6443]. Amazon placed two 767-300BDSFs (25363 and 25576, both ex-WestJet) with Cargojet for CMI operation . The aircraft were ferried to Hamilton (YHM) [FATs 006376 and 006453]. Amazon also took delivery of a 767-300BDSF (27450, ex-American Airlines) on lease from Cargo Aircraft Management (CAM), and placed it with Air Transport International for CMI operation [FATs 006422-6423]. CAM took redelivery of two 767-300BDSFs (29606, ex-American Airlines, and 27449, ex-Omni Air) after conversion by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) in Tel Aviv (TLV), and ferried them to Malta (MLA) and Roswell (ROW), respectively [FATs 006379 and 006451]. CAM also acquired two 767-300ERs (25354, ex-Delta, and 25586, ex-Air Canada) [FATs 006411-6412]. CAM also inducted for conversion a 767-300ER (32973, ex-ANA). The aircraft will be converted by IAI at TLV [FAT 006413]. DHL Express took redelivery of a 767-300BCF (33085, ex-American Airlines) after conversion with Boeing in Singapore (QPG), and ferried it to Bahrain (BAH) for operation with DHL International [FAT 006416]. FedEx Express took delivery of three 767-300Fs (66247, 63126 and 66252) from Boeing. The aircraft were ferried to Indianapolis (IND), Memphis (MEM) and IND, respectively [FATs 006426, 006449 and 006484]. LATAM inducted for conversion a 767-300ER (35697). The aircraft will be converted with Boeing at the ST Engineering facilities in Singapore [FAT 006469]. DHL transferred a 767-200BDSF (22570) from Atlas Air to ABX Air for CMI operation [FATs 006446-6447]. BlackRock acquired a 757-200 (28836, ex-TUI) [FAT 006384]. YTO Cargo Airlines acquired the first of seven 757-200s from AerSale, and inducted it for conversion with Precision Aircraft Solutions at HAECO Xiamen [FATs 006392-6406]. SF Airlines acquired a 757-200 (30886, ex-American Airlines) from AerSale [FAT 006459]. CAM acquired an A321-200 (1972, ex-Thomas Cook Airlines) [FAT 006448]. ASL Airlines took redelivery of a 737-800BCF (33595, ex-Ryanair) after conversion to freighter configuration by Boeing in Guangzhou (CAN) [FAT 006382]. Aero Capital Solutions (ACS) ordered seven more 737-800SF conversions with Aeronautical Engineers Inc. (AEI) [FATs 006385-6391]. ACS also acquired a 737-800 (29984, ex-Jin Air) from BCC Bolongo [FAT 006454]. ACS also took redelivery of a 737-800SF (28655, ex-Eastar Jet) and placed it on lease to Amazon [FATs 006470-6471]. Boeing inducted for conversion a 737-800 (35553, ex-Ryanair). The aircraft will be converted by Boeing at the STAECO facility in Jinan (TNA) [FATs 006407-6408]. BlackRock inducted for conversion a 737-800 (29040, ex-Ukraine International Airlines). The aircraft will be converted with AEI in Dothan (DHN) [FAT 006410]. BlackRock also took redelivery of a 737-800SF (32796, ex-Aeromexico) after conversion with AEI in Miami (MIA), and placed it on lease with iAero Airways [FATs 006414-6415]. BlackRock also took redelivery of another 737-800SF (29917, ex-AnadoluJet) after conversion with AEI in Xiamen (XMN), and placed it on lease to South Korea-based Air Incheon [FATs 006463-6464]. AviaAM Leasing took redelivery of its first 737-800BCF (29788, ex-Turkish Airlines), after conversion with Boeing at TNA [FAT 006419]. BoComm Leasing took redelivery of a 737-800BCF (38011, ex-Shanghai Airlines) after conversion with Boeing, and placed it on lease with China Postal Airlines [FATs 006421 and 006425]. BBAM placed a top-up order for twelve 737-800BCF conversions with Boeing, and exercised two previous options [FATs 006427-6440]. BBAM also inducted for conversion another 737-800 (28595, ex-Air Italy). The aircraft will be converted by Boeing at the STAECO facility at TNA [FAT 006465]. ASL Airlines took redelivery of a 737-800BCF (33612, ex-Ryanair) after conversion to freighter configuration by Boeing at CAN [FAT 006452]. Cargo Air acquired a 737-800 (28374, ex-Kulula) [FAT 006455]. China Central Longhao Airlines acquired a 737-800 (35755, ex-Hainan Airlines), and inducted it for conversion with Boeing at the GAMECO facility at CAN [FATs 006456-6457]. Spectre Air Capital took redelivery of a 737-700BDSF (30513, ex-Xiamen Airlines) after conversion by IAI in Tianjin (TSN), and placed it on lease with MyWay Airlines [FATs 006380-6381]. Transair inducted for conversion a 737-400 (25104, ex-Flair Airlines). The aircraft will be converted with AEI at the Commercial Jet facility at DHN [FAT 006383]. Aeronaves TSM acquired two 737-400s (24332, ex-GetJet Airlines, and 27630, ex-Sunrise Airways) ahead of conversion with AEI [FATs 006475 and 006482]. Aeronaves TSM also acquired a 737-300QC (23685, ex-Peruvian Airlines) [FAT 006483]. Indonesia-based Tri-M.G. Intra Asia Airlines took delivery of a 737-300F (28398, ex-Southwest Airlines), on lease from Rostrum Leasing [FAT 006378]. Plane Business Leasing took redelivery of a 737-300F (28869, ex-Star Air Cargo) after conversion with PEMCO in Tampa (TPA), and placed it on lease with Malaysia-based World Cargo Airlines [FATs 006467-6468].
