CF EMEA: Titan Airways plans expansion with A321Fs

FRANKFURT — U.K.-based Titan Airways plans to enlarge its presence in the freighter market with the introduction of three freighter-converted A321Fs. The first unit (1238, ex-Thomas Cook Airlines) was inducted for conversion by Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW) in Singapore (XSP) in January and is expected to be redelivered by the end of the year, on lease from BBAM.

At Cargo Facts EMEA 2020 last week, Alex Harrington, commercial director of Titan Airways, confirmed the second A321 to be converted in XSP would be inducted “shortly.” We wouldn’t be surprised if the lessor’s second A321P2F, to be inducted for conversion in March, is also destined for Titan, though BBAM did not confirm this.

Harrington said that, as Titan transitions to an all-Airbus fleet on its passenger side, the cargo business will eventually follow suit. But he added that the carrier’s two 737-400Fs, the second of which was redelivered in July 2019, would complement the A321Fs in the short term.
