Miami-based Global Crossing Airlines has set itself the goal of operating a fleet of as many as twenty-five A321Fs by the end of 2025.
The carrier, which cut the cargo door opening today on the first (1199, ex-Ural Airlines) of five A321-200P2Fs it will lease from ST Engineering, confirmed to Cargo Facts that it currently has eighteen units under lease agreements or firm letters of intent (LOIs) with deposits, and another five currently under under negotiation.

The 2000-vintage unit 1199 arrived at the VT San Antonio Aerospace facility in January 2022 for conversion with Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW) and is expected to be delivered to Global Crossing on lease in October.
This will be Global Crossing’s first A321P2F but not its first A321 freighter. The carrier is leasing two A321-200PCFs from Greenwich Highland, with the first (1438, ex-AtlasGlobal) arriving at the HAECO Americas facility in Lake City (LCQ) in October 2021 for conversion with 321 Precision Conversions.
The second unit will be inducted later this year, with Global Crossing expecting three A321Fs by the end of 2022, all with IAE V2500 engines.
Chairman and CEO Ed Wegel said in a statement that the airline expects to obtain certification for A321F operations by October 2022.
The new cargo carrier announced in March that it would lease two A321-200PCFs (1451 and 1503) from Petrus Aerovista A321 Holdings.
