Longtail to begin flying first 757

Bermuda-based Longtail Aviation has taken delivery of its first 757-200PCF and expects to start flying it this week. Longtail told Cargo Facts that it has already added the aircraft (25042, ex-Air Transport International) to its Bermudan operations specifications and that, effective today, the 757 is also in its U.S. operations specifications as a foreign air carrier under Part 129 of the Federal Aviation Regulations. (Photo/Longtail Aviation)[/caption] The 1991-vintage unit 25042, which was previously operated by Air Transport International on an ACMI basis for DHL until 2020, arrived in Miami (MIA) on Oct. 12. Longtail said it will operate the freighter on behalf of its owner, which is also a new customer. The carrier, which told Cargo Facts earlier this year it would introduce the 757 platform , also said it expects to add a second 757 to its fleet from the same owner in the next one to two months but declined to identify the aircraft. Longtail is also anticipating the arrival of its first 767 freighter in sixty to ninety days. The carrier previously had several 747-400s of various types in its fleet but no longer operates them.
