November continued to be a busy month for developments concerning freighter aircraft and conversions.
Of the forty-one major aircraft involved in freighter-related transactions logged by Cargo Facts in November, nineteen were 737s, consisting of eight -800s, eight -400s, and three -300s. Looking ahead, the return to service of the 737 MAX is likely to result in an even higher level of 737NG conversion activity.
Apart from the nineteen 737s, November’s freighter aircraft transactions (FATs) also covered eight 767s and eight 757-200s.
Below is a complete list of FATs recorded last month. These transactions originally appeared on Page 12 of our December 2020 issue. Next week, Cargo Facts will take a look at some of the top freighter aircraft transactions of the year.
UPS took delivery of a 747-8F (63784) from Boeing [FAT 005736]. The aircraft was ferried from Everett (PAE) to Louisville (SDF).
DHL Express took delivery of a 777F (66088) from Boeing, and placed it with AeroLogic for CMI operation [FATs 005745-005746]. The aircraft was ferried from PAE to Leipzig (LEJ).
CDB Aviation placed orders for two A330-300 conversions with Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW) [FATs 005748-005749].
DHL Express also acquired a 767-300ER (33086, ex-American Airlines) from Jetran, and ferried it to Mexico City (MEX) ahead of induction for conversion to freighter configuration by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) at the Mexicana MRO facility [FATs 005708-005709].
Cargo Aircraft Management (CAM) took redelivery of a 767-300BDSF (29429, ex-American Airlines), after conversion to freighter configuration by IAI in Tel Aviv (TLV) [FAT 005704]. The aircraft was ferried to Wilmington (ILN).
CAM also took redelivery of another 767-300BDSF (29227, ex-LATAM Airlines) after conversion to freighter configuration by IAI in TLV, and delivered it on lease to Cargojet [FATs 005705-005706]. The aircraft was ferried to Hamilton (YHM).
FedEx took delivery of a 767-300F (63119) from Boeing [FAT 005731]. The aircraft was ferried from PAE to Indianapolis (IND).
Jetran acquired three 767-300ERs (33081, 33085 and 33089, all ex-American Airlines) [FATs 005751-005753].
DHL Express transferred a 767-200BDSF (23018) from Atlas Air to Amerijet for CMI operation [FATs 005719-005720].
ASL Airlines Belgium took redelivery of a 757-200F (25622). The aircraft, previously operated by ASL, is the only 757 Combi to be converted into full-freighter configuration and was converted by ST Engineering in Singapore (XSP) [FATs 005711-005712].
SF Airlines took redelivery of a 757-200PCF (33101, ex-TUI Airways) following conversion by Precision Aircraft Solutions [FAT 005713].
AerSale acquired six 757-200s (29594, 30886, 29593, 30548, 30887 and 27808, all ex-American Airlines) [FATs 005754-005759].
BBAM took redelivery of a 737-800BCF (28608, ex-Air Italy), and placed it on lease with Zhongyuan Longhao Airlines [FATs 005728-005729].
Ireland-based ASL Aviation Holdings inducted for conversion three 737-800s (33641, ex-Pegasus; 33596 and 34178, ex-Ryanair). The aircraft were ferried to the Taikoo (Shandong) Aircraft Engineering Company Ltd. (STAECO) facility in Jinan (TNA) and are being converted by Boeing [FATs 005725-005727].
Bulgaria-based Cargo Air cancelled two 737-800BCF orders with Boeing [FATs 005732-005733]. The carrier, which acquired a 737-800 (30664, ex-Smartwings) [FAT 005717], placed two 737-800SF conversion orders with Aeronautical Engineers Inc. (AEI) [FATs 005734-005735].
BoComm Leasing inducted for conversion a 737-800 (39393, ex-Shanghai Airlines). The aircraft was ferried to Guangzhou (CAN) to be converted into freighter configuration by Boeing at the GAMECO facility [FAT 005742].
GECAS inducted for conversion a 737-800 (33717, ex-Ryanair). The aircraft was ferried to TNA, where it will be converted to freighter configuration by Boeing [FAT 005747].
DHL Express placed a second 737-400SF with Mesa Airlines for CMI operation. The aircraft (27674) had previously been flown by Southern Air [FATs 005701-005702].
Avmax inducted for conversion a 737-400C (27082, ex-Alaska Airlines). The aircraft will be converted from Combi to full-freighter configuration by PEMCO in Tampa (TPA) [FAT 005703].
U.K.-based West Atlantic transferred a 737-400F (24959) to the AOC of its Spain-based affiliate Swiftair [FAT 005710].
Mexico-based Aeronaves TSM placed a firm order for a 737-400SF conversion with AEI. The carrier also has an option for an additional conversion [FATs 005714-005715].
Iceland-based Bluebird Nordic took delivery of a 737-400SF (24751, ex-Flair Airlines), on lease from KF Aerospace [FAT 005730].
Brazil-based Sideral acquired a 737-400F (25375, ex-Rio Linhas Aereas) [FAT 005740].
South Korea-based Air Incheon added a 737-400F (26529, ex-Colt Cargo) [FAT 005741].
Congo-based Serve Air acquired a 737-300F (24020, ex-Royal Air Maroc) from TAG Aviation. The airline also acquired another 737-300F (24916) previously operated by YTO Cargo Airlines [FATs 005737-005739].
Zhongzhou Airlines (Central Airlines) acquired its second 737-300F (26325, ex-Suparna Airlines) [FAT 005750].
Aeronaves TSM inducted for conversion a CRJ-200 (7300, ex-ExpressJet Airlines). The aircraft will be converted to freighter configuration by AEI at the Commercial Jet facility in Dothan (DHN) [FAT 005716].
Spain-based Swiftair transferred an ATR 72-200F (147) to the AOC of U.K.-based West Atlantic UK [FAT 005707].
FedEx placed an ATR 72-200F (229) with Canada-based Morningstar Air Express. The aircraft had previously been operated on behalf of the integrator by ASL Airlines Ireland [FATs 005743-005744].
