Boeing’s Director of Freighter Conversions Bob Weiss will join Cargo Facts Asia 2024 for the panel discussion “The expanding narrowbody freighter space” on Tuesday, April 16, at 14:15 (UTC +8).

The 12th annual Cargo Facts Asia takes place April 15-17 at the Conrad Centennial Singapore, where industry leaders will gather to share their outlook on the air cargo sector in the Asia-Pacific region.

Boeing has ramped up its narrowbody and widebody conversion capacity in the region and has multiple lines at facilities including GAMECO, STAECO and ST Engineering. Boeing converted its seventieth and 150th 737-800BCFs at the STAECO conversion site in Jinan (TNA). That facility also completed its 100th conversion of the next-generation type when Boeing redelivered the 2006-vintage unit 35047 (ex-Xiamen Airlines) to China Postal Airlines in February.

In the medium-widebody segment, DHL took redelivery of its ninth young, ex-LATAM 767-300BCF in February after Boeing converted the aircraft at the GAMECO facility in Guangzhou (CAN), while Japan Airlines received its first 767-300BCF (40365) in January after the aircraft was converted at the ST Engineering facility in Singapore (QPG). A sister unit (40366) rejoined Japan Airlines in February after conversion at QPG.

Weiss joined Boeing in 2003 as a production and materials engineer. He served in several roles in supply chain, materials and training development for the 737 MAX and Boeing’s defense programs before becoming director of the conversion unit in March 2023.

Cargo Facts Asia will assemble industry leaders and executives to share their insights on the air cargo sector in the Asia-Pacific region while providing attendees a forum to engage with key decision-makers.
