Today, U.K.-based Hermes Logistics Technologies announced that Luxembourg Airport (LUX) finished the first phase of the installation of its Hermes 5 (H5) cargo management system . LUX began to implement the H5 Cargo system in October 2018 and expects the process to be fully completed by mid-2019.

The H5 system, customized for Luxembourg-based ground handler, LuxairCARGO, is the latest version of the cloud-based Hermes cargo management application designed to improve service management, revenue accounting, process automation and service failure avoidance. The system can run within any cloud service and can be integrated onto any internet-enabled device.

This upgraded H5 system features a new customs interface, created to help speed up cross-border customs clearance, as well as real-time tracking functionality and data analysis, to help reduce delays and backlogs. This version also consolidates customs documents for one inbound shipment, to increase efficiency.

“For one inbound flight to LUX, there can be as many as 20 different trucks, which transport its payload onto the next leg of its journey,” said Laurent Jossart, executive vice president at LuxairCARGO. “This tailored version of H5 will help LuxairCARGO to handle 1 million tonnes of airfreight cargo a year and save significantly on time and costs.”

Hermes started the global rollout of H5 earlier in 2018, with the implementation at ALS Cargo Terminal Co., Ltd., at Hanoi Noi Bai International Airport (HAN) in Vietnam; with Ultramar Group (UASL) at Santiago International Airport (SCL) in Chile; with GMR Group at Hyderabad International Airport (HYD) in India; and with RSA National at Dubai International Airport (DXB) in the United Arab Emirates.
