December transactions drop 40% from 2024 and 70% from 2023

The number of freighter aircraft transactions that Cargo Facts recorded in December 2025 fell to thirty-one from fifty-two in December 2024, a 40% year-over-year drop, and a 70% drop from December 2023, which saw 103 transactions. The decrease in freighter aircraft transactions reflects the industry's post-pandemic transition in addition to the decline in demand for narrowbody freighter types over the past two years. Widebody freighter transactions made up 80% of last month’s thirty-one freighter aircraft transactions (FATs). However, month over month, December’s FATs only decreased by two. 777-300ERSF deliveries anchored the transactions for the month, with Kalitta Air leasing its seventh unit from AerCap and Fly Meta taking delivery of its first Big Twin from the lessor and placing it with Air Atlanta Europe for ACMI service. Boeing delivered one production 777 freighter each to Qatar Airways and Turkish Airlines in December, ending a record year for 777F deliveries . Meanwhile, November saw an uptick in production freighter orders, with China Airlines placing an order with Boeing for four 777-8Fs and Air China Cargo ordering six A350Fs from Airbus . 737 aircraft accounted for all nine of the narrowbody transactions in November. ST Engineering highlighted the movement in the narrowbody sector with the acquisition of two 737-800SFs (28642 and 30646) from Titan Aviation Leasing, while Airwork took delivery of New Zealand’s first 737-800SF (27988). MNG Airlines placed an order for two A350Fs from Airbus [FATs 10793-10794]. Air China Cargo placed an order for six A350Fs from Airbus [FATs 10795-10800]. Silk Way West Airlines placed an order for two A350Fs from Airbus [FATs 10806-10807]. Emirates inducted for conversion a 777-300ER (34481). The aircraft will be converted with IAI in Tel Aviv (TLV) [FAT 10808]. Kalitta Air took delivery of a 777-300ERSF (32793, ex-Emirates) on lease from AerCap after conversion with IAI at TLV [FATs 10809-10811]. Fly Meta took delivery of a 777-300ERSF (32788, ex-Emirates) on lease from AerCap and placed it with Air Atlanta Europe for CMI operation on behalf of Hungary Airlines [FATs 10820-10822 and 10834-10836]. Turkish Airlines took delivery of a 777F (70425) from Boeing [FAT 10801]. Aerotranscargo took delivery of a 777F (68455) from Boeing and placed it on lease to One Air [FATs 10803-10805]. Qatar Airways took delivery of a 777F (70441) from Boeing [FAT 10837]. Turkish Airlines took delivery of a 777F (70426) from Boeing [FAT 10824]. CAM inducted for conversion an A330-300 (1269, ex-Thai Airways). The aircraft will be converted with EFW in Shanghai (SHA) [FAT 10771]. UPS lost an MD-11F (48417) after its number two engine separated from the left wing during takeoff [FAT 10779]. FedEx took delivery of two 767-300Fs (67546 and 67547) from Boeing [FATs 10792 and 10838]. UPS took delivery of a 767-300F (67983) from Boeing [FAT 10814]. Amazon inducted for conversion a 767-300ER (29384, ex-TUI fly Netherlands). The aircraft will be converted with Boeing in Singapore (QPG) [FATs 10781-10783]. CAM inducted for conversion a 767-300ER (26992, ex-Condor). The aircraft will be converted with IAI at TLV [FAT 10823]. CAM acquired a 767-300BDSF (27597) from Cargojet [FAT 10833]. Amerijet took delivery of a 767-300BCF (30566) on lease from Saltchuk Aviation [FATs 10831-10832]. JD Airlines took delivery of an A330-200P2F (832, ex-Etihad Airways) on lease from Titan Aviation Leasing [FATs 10817-10819]. Air China Cargo took redelivery of an A330-200P2F (909) after conversion with EFW in Chengdu (CTU) [FATs 10812-10813]. EgyptAir inducted for conversion one of its A330-200s (683). The aircraft will be converted with EFW in Dresden (DRS) [FAT 10784]. Airwork took delivery of a 737-800SF (27988, ex-Belavia) on lease from GA Telesis [FATs 10785-10788]. ST Engineering acquired two 737-800SFs (28642, ex-ASL Airlines, and 30646, ex-Georgian Airlines) from Titan Aviation Leasing [FATs 10790-10791]. West Atlantic took delivery of a 737-800BCF (29788, ex-AirExplore) on lease from World Star Aviation [FATs 10839-10841]. Gryphon Air Cargo acquired a 737-400SF (27673, ex-CargoLogic Germany) from Vx Capital [FAT 10802]. Aircraft Finance Germany acquired a 737-300F (26854) from Central Airlines and sold it to Aero Nusantara Cargo [FATs 10780 and 10789]. UniWorld Air Cargo acquired a 737-300F (24219) from Automatic [FAT 10836]. Lana'i Air took delivery of a Cessna 408 SkyCourier (408-0056) from Textron Aviation [FATs 10815-10816].
