Widebody transactions carry momentum into June

Widebody activity carried the freighter aircraft transaction momentum into June, with Cargo Facts recording sixty-two FATs, surpassing the previous month by thirteen transactions. However, the number of FATs in June decreased 29% year over year. China Southern Cargo highlighted the widebody activity for the month, placing an order with Boeing for eight 777-8Fs and two 777Fs. Emirates became the first combination carrier to place a 777-300ERSF into service last month, flying its 2006-vintage aircraft (34481) from Dubai (DWC) to Hong Kong (HKG) on June 30. A330 freighter growth is expanding in the medium-widebody sector as carriers continue to add the platform to their fleet. Spain-based Privilege Style is the newest carrier , preparing to launch A330-300P2F service after taking delivery of the 2004-vintage unit 641 on lease from CAM. Asia Pacific Aviation Leasing soon will add the first A330-300P2F to its freighter portfolio after sending the ex-AirAsia X 2014-vintage unit 1589 to Chengdu (CTU) for conversion with EFW. “For the A330P2F, we’re seeing a lot of demand, especially from China and Asia Pacific,” Gilbert Birke, senior sales manager of P2F and MRO at EFW, said during a discussion at Cargo Facts Asia 2026 in March. In the narrowbody segment, World Star Aviation continues to find new homes for its 737 Classics, placing one 737-400SF each with Colombia-based Aerosucre and Philippines-based Skyway Airlines. Skyway could add four more narrowbody freighters to its fleet this year, founder and Chief Executive Jose Peralta said at the conference. There are issues with yield margins when comparing the 737-400 freighter to belly cargo and widebody freighters, but “in terms of frequency, there’s going to be more demand,” he said. China Airlines took delivery of a 777F (70510) from Boeing [FAT 11130]. Emirates took delivery of a 777F (70440) from Boeing [FAT 11148]. FedEx retired five MD-11Fs, four 757-200SFs and one A300-600F [FATs 11151-11160]. Asia Pacific Aviation Leasing inducted for conversion an A330-300 (1589, ex-AirAsia X). The aircraft will be converted with EFW in Chengdu (CTU) [FAT 11124]. Privilege Style took delivery of an A330-300P2F (641, ex-China Airlines) on lease from CAM [FATs 11125-11127 and 11142]. Air Hong Kong placed a lease order for an A330-300P2F from CAM [FAT 11144]. FedEx took delivery of a 767-300F (67549) from Boeing [FAT 11113]. Amazon placed two 767-300Fs (67025 and 67027, ex-Maersk Air Cargo) with ABX Air for CMI operation [FATs 11120-11122 and 11145-11147]. Longtail Aviation took delivery of a 767-200BDSF (22216, ex-Amerijet) [FATs 11175-11176]. Swiftair took delivery of an A321-200P2F (2767, ex-China Southern Airlines) on lease from AerCap after conversion with EFW in Guangzhou (CAN) [FATs 11131-11133]. Amazon placed a 737-800BCF (33544, ex-Ryanair) with Sun Country Airlines for CMI operation [FAT 11123]. K2 Aviation acquired two 737-800BCFs (35022 and 38494) on lease to ASL Aviation from Aircastle [FATs 11134-11141]. Tianjin Air Cargo took redelivery of a 737-800SF (32603, ex-Shan Xi Airlines) after conversion with AEI in Haikou (HAK) [FAT 11143]. Aerosucre took delivery of a 737-400SF (25111, ex-ASL Airlines Belgium) on lease from World Star Aviation [FATs 11117-11119]. Saltchuk Aviation took delivery of a 737-400F (28888, ex-Poste Air Cargo) on lease from Automatic [FATs 11161-11162]. Skyway Airlines took delivery of a 737-400SF (25773, ex-ASL Airlines) on lease from World Star Aviation [FAT 11163]. Pascan Aviation took delivery of a Saab 340BF (340B-185, ex-Berry Aviation) on lease from Jetstream Aviation [FATs 11115-11116].
