Digital Pulse: CargoAi launches Air Freight Load Board

Airfreight technology provider CargoAi this week launched the Air Freight Load Board to streamline the process of finding and securing available spot cargo. (Courtesy/CargoAi)[/caption] Airlines can use the feature to access a database of available freight, complete with cargo specifications, through CargoAi’s CargoMART Airline app, according to a release. Features of the Air Freight Load Board include: Tailored search functions that allow users to browse freight listings filtered by their preferences and requirements; A direct connection with contacts that eliminates the need for intermediary communication; Real-time updates on available cargo; and Enhanced visibility into the airfreight market. “With the launch of the Air Freight Load Board, we complete our value proposition allowing forwarders to manage spot requests across airlines, previously available, and now giving the airlines the ability to proactively find these opportunities,” CargoAi Chief Executive Matt Petot said in the release. Etihad Cargo launches digital sales optimization tool Etihad Cargo launched Sales Cockpit, a digital sales optimization tool, this month. The carrier began working with Netherlands-based software company Rotate in May 2023 to develop the tool that uses data and machine learning to improve customer service. Using algorithms to analyze data, Sales Cockpit generates customized recommendations on how users can strengthen customer relationships, according to a release from Etihad. During the development, Rotate and Etihad’s steering team visited 10 of the carrier’s global stations in 20 weeks to gather feedback. Etihad’s sales representatives and commercial teams will use Sales Cockpit to track regional performance and identify opportunities to help customers meet tonnage targets. “Sales Cockpit will benefit not only Etihad Cargo and its customers but also has the potential to transform how other carriers in the wider air cargo community access the vast amounts of data available and use it to start having more meaningful and engaging conversations with their customers,” Etihad Cargo Vice President Stanislas Brun said in the release. ECS Group offers Pathfinder as individual solution Global general sales and service agent ECS Group recently launched Pathfinder, a web-based track-and-trace system developed by its in-house Cargo Digital Factory. Pathfinder provides shipment status in real time, helping airlines reduce inefficiencies and increase customer satisfaction, according to a March 11 release from ECS Group. Developed in 2019, the software is now available for airline customers as an individual service module, even if they don’t have an ECS Group general sales and service agent contract. “The need for complete shipment journey visibility has skyrocketed in importance in recent years,” Adrien Chauviere , cargo manager at Corsair , the first carrier to subscribe to Pathfinder, said in the release. “The situation in the air cargo industry is still very fragmented and, until we switched to Pathfinder, much of our tracking process was carried out by phone or email. The process was largely manual, time-consuming and far from seamless, let alone capable of providing real-time information.” Fits Cargo lists capacity on WebCargo Fits Cargo is the latest carrier to list its capacity on the WebCargo by Freightos digital booking platform, according to a March 13 release from Freightos. Based in Sri Lanka, Fits Cargo flies more than 4,000 tonnes of airfreight annually, with direct presences in Dubai, India, Hong Kong and the Maldives, according to the release. “WebCargo’s e-booking solution and interline platform extends our global reach and connectivity, giving us visibility and access to new markets, seamless transactions and e-bookings for our clients, bolstering Fits Cargo’s market presence,” Zameer Marikkar , senior vice president at Fits Cargo, said in the release.
