Etihad cargo continues record-breaking performance

Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways reported 2014 cargo volume  up 16.8% to a record 569,000 tonnes.

This is just over half the 32% growth rate it reported in 2013, but an enviable performance nonetheless.

Worth noting is that the gains in volume do not appear to be coming at the expense of yield. Revenue figures for the full year are not yet available, but through the first three quarters, Etihad has consistently reported cargo revenue growth on par with, or greater than, the growth in volume.

In addition to a large, and growing, fleet of widebody passenger aircraft, Etihad operates three 777Fs and four A330-200Fs, and has one of each type still on order. It also ACMI leases one 747-8F and two 747-400Fs from Atlas Air.
