This week, Cargo Facts released a refreshed agenda for its ninth annual presentation of Cargo Facts Asia, which will take place at the Mandarin Oriental Singapore on April 20-22. Given the extraordinary level of volatility the airfreight industry currently faces, this year’s event is designed to help air cargo uncover opportunities for countering headwinds and finding success in 2020, and beyond.
Following a turbulent 2019, air cargo in the Asia-Pacific region seemed poised for recovery in early 2020. Forecasting efforts were derailed by the outbreak of the novel coronavirus in late December, which has led to significant reductions in international airfreight capacity. With many factories idled, global inventories are on the decline and further supply chain disruptions loom. In the background, an unresolved trade war between the United States and China continues to encourage the migration of industrial production to other parts of Asia.
Cargo Facts Asia 2020 combines speaker presentations, roundtable panels and exclusive fireside chats to discuss strategies for countering near-term challenges and accommodating long-term opportunities. The top sponsors of this year’s event are Boeing and EFW, and some of the exciting sessions at Cargo Facts Asia 2020 include:
- Transcending Tariffs: Long-term growth opportunities for airfreight in Asia and beyond;
- Planning for the Next Boom: Emerging cargo hotspots in Asia-Pacific;
- Release of Cargo Facts Consulting’s 20-year Freighter Forecast; and
- Addressing the Equipment Needs of Growing Asian Express.
As is customary, we invite you to help shape our speaker faculty for Cargo Facts Asia by letting us know which speakers you would like to hear from in our call for speakers.
