Russia-based Atran, an affiliate carrier of the Volga-Dnepr Group, took delivery of a 737-800BCF (33419) on lease from GECAS following conversion by Boeing. Touch labor for the aircraft was performed at Boeing Shanghai Aviation Services at Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG).

This is the second of two 737-800BCF conversions Atran agreed to lease from GECAS as part of an October 2018 agreement. When the deal was first announced, Atran was expected to phase-in the second aircraft during the first half of 2019. Although later than originally expected, given the aircraft’s arrival this week, the aircraft will likely be active ahead of peak season. Atran’s first 737-800BCF (32616, ex-Nok Air) was redelivered to GECAS and subsequently leased to Atran in January of this year.

As for the carrier’s four-unit 737-400F fleet, one aircraft (25775) is currently operating on Atran’s AOC, but is slated for transfer to the fleet of its affiliate CargoLogic Germany, which just received a German AOC last month. Initially, CLG will operate a pair of 737-400SFs that were redelivered to the carrier earlier this year, on lease from Vx Capital. Beyond the third aircraft, CargoLogic Germany has said it plans to grow its fleet to ten units by 2022, but has not disclosed any concrete acquisition plans. Neither of the carrier’s aircraft has commenced commercial revenue service, according to flight-tracking data.
