Amazon’s Murphy joins Cargo Facts LATAM 2026

Gerry Murphy, director of global fleet, aviation sourcing and technical support at Amazon Air, will join Cargo Facts LATAM 2026 for the panel discussion “Facilitating cross-border e-commerce in Latin America” on Wednesday, Feb. 11, at 2:15 pm (GMT-6).

The fourth annual Cargo Facts LATAM conference will take place Feb. 10-12 at the Marquis Reforma in Mexico City, assembling decision-makers, global executives and leaders to share insights and analyze the latest market trends, air cargo developments and their potential impact in Latin America.

Murphy took on his current role in June 2024. Prior to that, he served in an executive leadership capacity with Amazon for nearly ten years in addition to being apartner and co-chair of the aviation group at law firm Crowell and Moring for more than thirteen years.

Amazon is placing two more 737-800BCFs with Sun Country Airlines to consolidate its Boeing-converted 737-800 freighters in the United States. Sun Country will end up operating twenty-two 737-800BCFs on behalf of the e-commerce giant.

The etail giant also acquired its first passenger A330-300 in July 2025 after taking delivery of its tenth A330-300P2F on lease from Altavair. Amazon placed that 2011-vintage freighter with Hawaiian Airlines for CMI operations that June.

Murphy will join a panel of distinguished industry leaders within the region, including:

• Alejandra Callejas, international cargo operations manager, Aeromexico Cargo;
• Carlos Herrera, managing director, Awesome Cargo; and
• Leo Teplitskiy, director key accounts, cargo – Americas, Chapman Freeborn.

The panelist will share insights on the latest developments and discuss:

• Building networks between logistics companies and freight forwarders;
• Tariffs, customs, nearshoring trends, and Latin America’s place in the global e-commerce market; and
• New policies and regulations to aid e-commerce growth in Latin America.
