Retirements, lease orders lead June Freighter Aircraft Transactions

Freighter aircraft transactions rebounded in June with 112 FATs, nearly double the number for May. Retirements and lease orders combined accounted for forty of the 112 transactions this month with twenty-two and eighteen FATs, respectively. The lease orders included 737-800 freighters for Slovakia-based AirExplore and China’s JD Airlines , as well as 737-400 freighters for Philippines-based Skyway Airlines and Kenya-based Astral Aviation. Cargo Facts also recorded a lease order from Kalitta Air for three 777Fs from United Arab Emirates-based DAE Capital. FedEx was behind the high number of retirements. The express delivery carrier accelerated retirement of its older freighters after deciding to permanently remove twenty-two 757-200Fs from service. Meanwhile, Amazon removed two of its 767-300Fs from the Atlas Air certificate as the e-commerce giant transitions some of its Boeing medium-widebody freighters to ABX Air. The ATR freighter generated a lot of activity, leading the regional sector with fourteen FATs for the month. Transactions included: Estonia-based Airest taking delivery of its first ATR 72-500F on lease from Petrus Aviation; Canada-based Summit Air acquiring two ATR 72-202Fs (449 and 222) from Switzerland-based Zimex Aviation; and Thailand-based Pattaya Airways taking delivery of its second ATR 72-500F from ACIA Aero Leasing . Below is a list of FATs recorded in June. Each transaction contains a unique FAT code linked to our FAT Database . Asiana Airlines acquired a 747-400F (30765) from China Airlines [FAT 9775]. China Airlines took delivery of a 777F (68059) from Boeing [FAT 9830]. Kalitta Air will lease three 777Fs from DAE Capital [FATs 9768-9770]. CAM took redelivery of a 767-300BDSF (26991, ex-Condor) after conversion with IAI in Tel Aviv (TLV) [FAT 9774]. CAM also acquired a 767-300ER (26992, ex-Condor) [FAT 9776]. My Freighter will lease a 767-300BCF (25587, ex-Air Canada) from CAM [FAT 9777]. SF Airlines inducted for conversion a 767-300ER (29387, ex-Condor). The aircraft will be converted with Boeing in Guangzhou (CAN) [FATs 9824-9825]. Amazon transferred two 767-300BCFs (27206 and 28098) from Atlas Air to ABX Air for CMI operation [FATs 9855-9858]. Avmax acquired a 767-200BDSF (22217, ex-West Atlantic) from CAM and placed it back on lease to Astral Aviation [FATs 9788-9791]. KAP.KG acquired an A300B4-200F (857) from JMB Aviation Group [FAT 9831]. FedEx retired twenty-two 757-200Fs and placed them into storage in Victorville (VCV) [FATs 9833-9854]. AerCap took redelivery of an A321-200P2F (3966, ex-Vietnam Airlines) after conversion with EFW in Singapore (XSP) and placed it on lease to Swiftair [FATs 9721-9722]. Qantas acquired an A321-200P2F (3512, ex-British Airways) from JLPS Ireland [FAT 9787]. China Postal Airlines took redelivery of two 737-800BCFs (35048 and 35049, ex-Xiamen Airlines) after conversion with Boeing in Jinan (TNA) [FATs 9761-9764 and 9826-9829]. JD Airlines placed a lease order for three 737-800BCFs from AerCap [FATs 9771-9773]. BBAM took redelivery of a 737-800BCF (35681) after conversion with Boeing in Kelowna (YLW) and placed it back on lease to Alaska Airlines [FATs 9778-9779]. Texel Air Australasia began operating a 737-800BCF (35092, ex-Aircompany Armenia) on an ACMI basis for Team Global Express [FAT 9780]. Spectre Air Capital took redelivery of a 737-800BDSF (30073, ex-Blue Panorama Airlines) after conversion with IAI in Tianjin (TSN) [FATs 9782-9785]. World Star Aviation took redelivery of a 737-800BDSF (34970, ex-Royal Flight) after conversion with IAI in Yichang (YIH) [FAT 9786]. AerCap took redelivery of a 737-800BCF (32672, ex-AnadoluJet) after conversion with Boeing in Shanghai (PVG) [FAT 9798]. AirExplore took delivery of a 737-800SF (33813, ex-BBN Airlines Nordic) on lease from GA Telesis [FATs 9800-9802]. AirExplore also took delivery of three 737-800BCFs (29786, 29788 and 29782, all ex-BBN Airlines Nordic) on lease from AviaAM Leasing [FATs 9803-9811]. AirExplore also took delivery of three 737-800SFs (32919, 28328 and 32277, all ex-BBN Airlines Nordic) on lease from World Star Aviation [FATs 9812-9823]. Skyway Airlines took delivery of a 737-400BDSF (29208, ex-ASL Airlines Belgium) on lease from AerCap [FATs 9765-9767]. Astral Aviation placed a lease order for a 737-400F (27082, ex-Alaska Airlines) from Avmax [FAT 9792]. Automatic acquired a 737-300BDSF (23490) from Qantas [FAT 9799]. Airnesia Royal Cargo acquired a 737-300F (27362, ex-Central Airlines) from Aircraft Finance Germany [FAT 9832]. Aeronaves TSM took redelivery of a CRJ200SF (7534, ex-ExpressJet Airlines) after conversion with AEI in Dothan (DHN) [FAT 9781]. Airest took delivery of an ATR 72-500F (715, ex-Afrijet) on lease from Petrus Aviation [FATs 9755-9760]. ACIA Aero Leasing took redelivery of an ATR 72-500F (742, ex-Air Corsica) after conversion with IPR Conversions and placed it on lease to Pattaya Airways [FATs 9793-9797]. Summit Air acquired two ATR 72-202Fs (449 and 222) from Zimex Aviation [FATs 9723-9724]. Fleet Air acquired an ATR 72-202F (265) from ASL Airlines [FATs 9754]. ASL Aviation Holdings sold two ATR 72-200Fs (210 and 341) and returned another (324) off lease [FATs 9751-9753].
