CAM receives second ex-ANA 767BCF to be placed with UPS

Air Transport Services Group’s (ATSG) leasing arm Cargo Aircraft Management (CAM) has taken redelivery of the second 767-300BCF (24632) it acquired from Japanese carrier ANA Cargo and plans to lease to Atlanta-based UPS. The aircraft was ferried from Tokyo (HND) to Wilmington (ILN) via Anchorage (ANC), arriving on the morning of Nov. 15.

Unit 24632, which was first delivered to ANA in passenger configuration in October 1989, operated its last commercial flight on Nov. 2, flying from Okinawa (OKA) back to HND. CAM acquired a third 767-300BCF (24400) from ANA but that frame is currently still in service with the carrier.

The first 767-300BCF CAM took from ANA was unit 25136, which made its way across the Pacific in August 2019. We reported last month that unit 25136 would be dry-leased to UPS and was in the process of being re-registered. This aircraft has been at ILN since Oct. 17 after being painted into UPS colors by Landlocked Aviation at Lake Charles (CWF), and has still not begun flying with the integrator.

When ATSG announced its 3Q19 results, it said that CAM would place four 767Fs with UPS in the fourth quarter. Unit 24632 will very likely be the fourth. The first aircraft (28041, ex-Air Italy) was redelivered by IAI in August, and has already been flying in Europe since Oct. 22. The second and third will be unit 25136 and another 767-300BDSF (28039, ex-Air Italy), redelivered to CAM in September and also currently still at ILN.
